What Fragrant Aroma Is Greater Than Essential Oils?

Essential oils are amazing volatile plant components that have the power to heal and can offer amazing benefits when used properly. The oils are so concentrated (the power of sometimes hundreds of pounds of flowers in an ounce of volatile oil) and the plant’s fragrance releases as it evaporates and we breathe it in.

The healing power of the oils depends on the active components in each plant and also how they are used:
~some are anti-inflammatory and calming
~some are stimulating and cause an increase of circulation and activity in the blood and body
~some are cleansing and cause purification of the body by destroying bacteria and pathogens
~some speed up healing and restoration by increasing the rate at which cells generate

As much as using essential oils for the body is a fabulous practice and benefits the user, we are called to be be a fragrant aroma, pleasing to God. a blessing to believers and unbelievers alike.
~we can be instruments of peace, bringing calmness and love to inflamed situations
~we can stimulate, exhort, motivate and stir movement in the church, spurring one another on towards righteousness
~we can bring the word of God to sins that need cleansing and be instruments of the Lord as He purifies people, hearts, and circumstances.
~and we can bring love, peace, and encouraging words and scripture to the weary, in need of healing

1 Cor 2:14-16
14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

There is a stark contrast between fragrant oils and essential oils.
Essential oils are the true volatile components of the plant. In order to get them specialized equipment is necessary. They are true, pure, and effective. In contrast, there are many counterfeit oils on the market which are often called “fragrant oils”. They are very fragrant, but the have no ability to heal, they are not pure oils, and they can even cause harmful allergic and, even worse, toxic reactions because of chemicals, synthetic substances, and additives. When these are mistakenly used in place of pure essential oils not only are there often side-effects, but the root issues that needed the healing power of essential oils were never properly addressed.

In the same way, there are counterfeit gospels preached that don’t offer the true life-changing, soul healing, and eternal life of simply Jesus. There are preachers and gospels that smell a lot like Christianity, but deny the power of the simple gospel. Be it works-based gospels (by grace we are saved through faith and this is not your own doing but the gift of God so that no one can boast Ephesians 2:8), health, wealth, and prosperity teachings (we will share in suffering: Romans 5:3, 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, Hebrews 2:10, James 5:10, 1 Peter 5:9, 2 Peter 2:13), or adding things to Scripture that God did not authorize (Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18), only the real thing will bring the soul healing we need: simply a relationship with Jesus in which we confess that we need Him and understand we are bringing nothing to the table. After that, anything good we do is directly from Him working in us and we owe Him the glory. If you want more information, feel free to comment below or contact me privately.

who is Jesus; am I Jesus? How will we know the prophets that are "inwardly, sheeps" or should I say, not "ravenous wolves"?

Hi Thinbelina, thanks for your comment/question. No, you are not Jesus. :) Jesus is God, the Creator of the entire Universe. Colossians 1:15-20 says:
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For byfn him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."
Isaiah 9:6 also says this about Him:
"For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God"

We will know the prophets and teachers by holding them up to the lens of Scripture, which is the Bible and includes 66 books. If what they are teaching can not be backed up by the Bible, including the verse and also the context, then don't listen to them and find another Pastor/teacher/mentor. It does take time to learn your bible so it is really helpful to have someone that can answer your questions that you trust who has been a Christian for a long time as you read.
Has anyone ever shared the Gospel with you?
