Hi. I think you mean reminerlization?
If so, it is because once you purify the water the pH drops very low, often to about 6. For optimal health we drink Alkaline water so adding the right minerals back in brings back the pH back up to a safe or better than safe alkalizing pH.

Our 17 year old countertop reverse osmosis system is outdated with the faucets being made. I was also interested in whole house reverse osmosis because my daughter has keratosis and we are finding white residue in our unfiltered water-fluoride??? Our water department in Avon Lake, OH informed us that he would love to not put Flouride in our water, but the state of Ohio has mandated it by legislation. We need to get that changed! However, my question is, Will the San Diego Pure Water company ship a self-install kit with a whole house system to Ohio? Is it worth doing, or do you know of other companies. I have found a few, but the cost seems rather high. Your input, please??

Hi Jeanne, Thanks for reading!

I would love whole house RO, but yes they are very expensive, from $6000-$10,000 depending on the system from what I see which is why I did the whole house KDF + carbon and the RO at my sink! You can call them and ask if they will but I have friends that tried and had trouble connecting with them about it.
